Speaking with TheCable from France where he is with the Super Eagles for the friendly against Mali, Ideye said he was happy to be given the opportunity to don the national colours once again.

“I feel happy about it you know it has been a really long time I have not been with the team. So I’ll say thank you for everyone who made it possible for me to return to the national team,” he said.

The striker, who has netted a total of 10 goals in his first season with Olympiakos, said he would not be under pressure in the match against the Malian side.

“As for me it’s all about going there enjoying my football and doing what I know how to do best which is scoring goals and enjoying football,” he said.

The Super Eagles will play Mali on May 27 in France then play Luxembourg on May 31st in Luxembourg.
